Hopcast SDK for developers

Add device-to-device sharing to your app

The Hopcast SDK lets nearby phones exchange files directly, over Bluetooth LE and peer-to-peer Wi-Fi, in offline, online or hybrid mode. Available for iOS, Android and Flutter.

Version 0.6.0, released 2026-11-04 on all three platforms

What's in 0.6.0

One release, three platforms

  • One automatic mode

Bluetooth LE and peer-to-peer Wi-Fi, chosen automatically. There is no transport to pick.

  • iPhone and Android

iPhone and Android phones exchange with each other over Bluetooth.

  • Offline, online, hybrid

Run without any network, with online orchestration, or both at the same time.

  • Requirements checked at build

build() checks your Info.plist or manifest and reports exactly what is missing, instead of failing silently.

Requirements

Devices on Android 8.0 (API 26) or later: set your app's minSdk to 26. Manifest permissions are merged automatically; a connectedDevice foreground service and core library desugaring are required.

SDK key

Free to download, unlocked by your key

The SDK packages are public and free to download. They do nothing until a valid SDK key (pk_live_…) provisions the device. Get your key from the Hopcast console, with Google sign-in. The key is designed to be embedded in your app and can be revoked at any time from the console.

Claude Code plugin

Let your coding agent do the integration

The hopcast-integration skill integrates the SDK into a Flutter, native iOS or native Android app, in offline, online or hybrid mode. Install it from the Hopcast marketplace, then ask, for example: "Integrate Hopcast into this app in offline mode".

Claude Code
/plugin install hopcast-integration --marketplace Hopcast/hopcast-plugins

Before Claude Code 2.1.275, use two commands instead:

Claude Code < 2.1.275
/plugin marketplace add Hopcast/hopcast-plugins
/plugin install hopcast-integration@hopcast
